England U21s battled to a 2-1 victory over Ukraine at Bramall Lane, but who impressed for the Young Lions?
Aidy Boothroyd's side moved a step closer to qualification for Euro 2019 as Dominic Solanke's late goal saw them to victory in Sheffield.
Here, we take a look at three players who stood out...
The young left-back has enjoyed his breakthrough at Leicester and if he continues on his current path it shouldn't be too long before he's challenging for a place in the senior squad.
Always composed in defence as well as being a threat going forward, his superb cross found Dominic Solanke to score England's late winner. He also took the armband when Demarai Gray was substituted.
Honourable mention - Jonjoe Kenny
The Everton right-back wasn't quite as impressive as Chilwell in his all-round game, but a brilliant piece of defending in the 64th minute denied Ukraine as he got back onto his line to deny Maksym Lunov.
England's best player on the night was consistently the biggest threat to Ukraine's defence, winning free-kick after free-kick for the home side and regularly putting in excellent balls from those set-pieces.
He also provided the standout moment of quality at Bramall Lane as his perfectly-weighted through-ball in behind the Ukraine defence picked out Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the opener.
Honourable mention - Ryan Sessegnon
It wasn't the England Under-21 debut that the Fulham wonderkid would have been hoping for, but the fact he became the first player born in the 21st century to feature for the Young Lions is worthy of a mention on its own. He'll have plenty more opportunities to impress at this level and beyond.
Calvert-Lewin never scored for Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, but the boyhood Blade showed superb composure in scoring the first goal for England.
Found by Maddison, his first touch to control the ball and keep it away from his marker was brilliant, and his second was even better as he poked it past the onrushing goalkeeper.
Honourable mention - Dominic Solanke
Fitness probably denied Liverpool striker Solanke a spot in the starting line-up at Bramall Lane, but he was called upon in the closing stages and took his chance clinically when it came to him.
