The Liverpool defender was handed the captain's armband for the match against the hosts, who secured a memorable win when Ofir Kriaf curled the ball home with 10 minutes remaining in Jerusalem.
Defeat left England without a point from their three games, with their only goal coming from the penalty spot.
"We did not perform to the best of our abilities," the 20-year-old told Sky Sports.
"When you put on the England shirt, you have to perform at your best at all times. The lads and myself are all disappointed, we know we didn't do ourselves and our country justice.
"We just didn't get our finger on the plan we took into the game in the end. It's all part of an experience and we have got to try to move on from it."
Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce singled out Wisdom for praise while lambasting his players for their performance in the defeat to Israel, and Wisdom hopes that Pearce will continue in the role despite recent results.
"Stuart's a great manager, me and all the lads appreciate his work on the training field. If he does stay on it will be great for us, he was a great player with great experience and hopefully we can keep moving on."
