Ronaldinho ends drought as Luiz scores own goal & Alves sees red

Ronaldinho ended his international goal drought as 10-man Brazil came from behind to beat Mexico 2-1 in a friendly. The 2014 World Cup hosts had beaten Costa Rica over the weekend and followed that up with a battling victory over Mexico at the TSM stadium in Torreon. Things started badly for the five-time world champions as Chelsea defender David Luiz turned Pablo Barrera's cross into his own net after just 10 minutes. The situation got worse for Mano Menezes' side just before half-time when Dani Alves was shown a second yellow card after he pushed Javier Hernandez in the box. However, Mexico failed to take advantage after Andres Guardado saw his penalty saved by Brazil goalkeeper Jefferson. Mexico were unable to make their extra man count and conceded an equaliser with 11 minutes to go when Ronaldinho fired home a free-kick for his first goal for Brazil in four years. Just four minutes later, Brazil grabbed the winner after Marcelo finished a combination with Neymar following a surging run down the left-hand side. The match was the farewell game for Oswaldo Sanchez on the same day of his 100th appearance in El Tri. It was also the first defeat for Mexico boss Jose Manuel De la Torre at the helm after 14 games without a loss.
