Waddock makes first signing by bringing in familiar face

New Wycombe manager Gary Waddock has made his first signing since joining the club by sealing the loan of Scott Davies. Waddock only took charge of the Chairboys on Tuesday following Peter Taylor's departure from the club. The former Aldershot boss has moved quickly to sign a player he knows well having taken Davies on loan in the past two seasons. The midfielder comes with a good goalscoring pedigree having notched nine in 32 games for the Shots in 2007/08 before bettering that last season with a tally of 14 in 45 games in League Two. The 21-year-old managed to break into the Reading first team as a result of his success at the Recreation Ground making four starts for the Royals this term. However Davies last played for Brendan Rodgers' men back in August, when he started the Carling Cup defeat to Barnsley, and the one-month loan deal will allow the youngster to play regular first-team football. Davies will go straight into the squad for the game at home to Colchester on Saturday as Waddock looks to steer Wycombe to their first win in eight games in his first match at the helm.
