Craddock wants strong return

Striker Tom Craddock wants to put the first half of the season behind him and re-establish himself in the Oxford first team.

Craddock, who netted 15 times for the Us last year, missed the opening three months of the season with a knee injury before being sent off nine minutes into his first appearance of the term in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy southern section area quarter-final defeat to Southend last month. Now fit and available for selection following his three-game suspension, Craddock cannot wait to return to regular match action. He told BBC Oxford: "I am really excited to get back on the pitch. I've got fire in my belly and I just want to get out there and prove I'm a good player. "I feel like I've lived in the gym these past few months but my knee feels brand new. I've just had to take a positive spin on the sending-off and I've used the suspension as extra time to try to improve the injury even more. "It's been disappointing but now I'm just glad to be involved again and hopefully get us on a winning run."
