Fletcher hails two-goal Mac

Carl Fletcher praised Burnley loanee Alex MacDonald after his double helped Plymouth Argyle to a 4-0 win at Accrington.

MacDonald struck in the third minute of Saturday's League Two clash at the Crown Ground after a one-two with Nick Chadwick, and doubled his tally with a close-range rebound. Darren Purse added a 72nd-minute header before Luke Daley wrapped up the win in injury time, but Fletcher singled out MacDonald for praise despite a complete team performance. "I am delighted for Macca. He has come here, settled in and got three goals in three games now," Fletcher said. "You can see his work-rate on and off the ball and he has done really well for the team. "We came here with a game plan and we stuck with it. We knew it wouldn't be the prettiest of games. Even at 2-0 at half-time, I couldn't rest as it's a dangerous score so I was delighted to get the third and then Luke has finished it off. "We have a good group of players here, some real characters and they will fight for each other and showed that. But we won't rest on our laurels now. We have got to carry on doing the right things. You have highs and lows at a football club and we have got to enjoy this high but continue to work hard."
