Smith looks for home comforts

Stevenage manager Gary Smith wants an upturn in his side's home form to ensure they stay in the promotion mix.

Boro are still third in League One despite crashing to a 4-1 defeat by Preston last weekend. It was only their second home loss this season but their form at Broadhall Way, with four draws and only three wins, is in stark contrast to their fortunes on the road. "Seven wins, a loss and a draw is a really good return away from our own turf," said Smith. "Somehow we've got to turn things around at home because if we can just earn a few points at home we'll be in a wonderful position come the end of the year." Contract rebel Robin Shroot could return to the starting line-up at Sheffield United on Saturday after playing in a midweek friendly against Southend.
