Shelley Kerr says getting the chance to manage her country is a dream come true.

Former Scotland international Kerr played 59 times for her country and her managerial CV includes stints at Kilmarnock, Hibernian and Arsenal Ladies.

Kerr made history in 2014 when she became the first female manager in men's senior football when she was appointed manager of Stirling University.

The 47-year-old has spent the last two seasons at the helm of Scottish Lowland Football League outfit and will succeed Anna Signeul as Scotland boss after this summer's Women's Euro 2107 in the Netherlands.

"This is the pinnacle for me and as much as it may look like I had a plan in place I don't think you can ever plan, especially in football," Kerr told Sky Sports News HQ after being presented to the media on Wednesday.

"It's absolutely amazing, as a young kid playing football you dream of representing your country. I was fortunate enough to do that but to get the opportunity to now lead the women's national team is a dream come true.

"Anna Signeul has done an amazing job over the 12 years that she has been in the post. She's changed the perception of the girl's and women's game in Scotland.
