Blues defender facing two weeks on sidelines

David Luiz will miss Chelsea's UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona on Wednesday night due to a hamstring injury. The central defender was absent from the final training session at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday afternoon, and was later ruled out of the mouthwatering clash against the holders with a hamstring injury. Brazil international Luiz was carried off on a stretcher midway through the second half of the Blues' FA Cup semi-final thrashing of Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday. Roberto Di Matteo, whose side are preparing to take on the Catalan giants in the second of four games packed into 10 hectic days, hopes to have the former Benfica man back within two weeks. "It's a big loss for us," Di Matteo said. "He's a fantastic centre-half who was in good form. We hope to get him back in two weeks, maybe, and hopefully he will be ready for the end of the season." The interim boss does expect captain John Terry, who is still playing through the pain of broken ribs to be fit for the clash. He could be partnered at the back by England international team-mate Gary Cahill, who replaced the injured Luiz against Spurs, while Branislav Ivanovic is available despite his domestic suspension.
