Crawley have signed goalkeeper Glenn Morris as a player/coach ahead of the 2016/17 season.

Morris has agreed a one-year contract with the Reds, with the option of a further 12 months, having recently been released by Gillingham.

The 32-year-old becomes manager Dermot Drummy's third new signing following the arrivals of midfielders Enzio Boldewijn and Jason Banton.

"Glenn has been been working towards his coaching badges and what we want to do is to try and develop his coaching with how we work," Drummy told the club's official website.

"He's played 250-odd league games so he's got loads of experience and we're pleased to be working with him.

"It was important that we found ourselves someone who could play as well as coach and, of course, he is vastly knowledgeable of our level.

"It's a sensible choice because if we get an injury in that specific position then Glenn can play.

"He knows what we're trying to do with the club and he will be a big asset in the coaching side and specifically working with the other goalkeepers we will be bringing in."

Morris has also played for Leyton Orient, Southend and Aldershot and made 12 appearances for Gillingham during his two years at Priestfield.
