Derby defender expected to be out until end of February

Derby defender Dean Leacock is set to be out until the end of the February with his latest injury problem. The 25-year-old will undergo minor knee surgery this week after feeling some discomfort following the Championship defeat to Doncaster at Pride Park on 19th December, which has caused him to miss the Rams' last four matches. It is the latest setback for Leacock in what has proved an injury-plagued 14 months for the centre-half. He was forced off during a Carling Cup tie at Brighton in November 2008 with a groin problem. That injury sidelined him for the rest of the season and also saw him miss the first month of the current campaign.
