Hornets stopper moves to Edgeley Park

Stockport County have secured the services of Watford defender Mat Sadler on a loan deal until the end of the season, while a similar arrangement is in place for George Donnelly. The financially-stricken Hatters have lost Michael Rose and Carl Baker already this transfer window and several others are expected to follow the duo out of the exit door. Stockport boss Gary Ablett has moved to offset these departures with signings of his own having landed the experienced Sadler. The left-back began his career at Birmingham, with whom he made over 60 appearances, before an ill-fated £750,000 switch to Vicarage Road. Ablett has also agreed a loan move for Plymouth striker Donnelley, again until the end of the season, subject to Football League approval. Donnelly moved to Home Park in March 2009 from Skelmersdale United and has since enjoyed a loan stint at Luton Town.
