Barcelona maintained the last remaining 100 per cent record in Primera Liga with a narrow victory over Valencia as reigning champions Real Madrid won for the first time this season.
Adriano's stunning goal midway through the first half ensured it is three wins out of three for
Barcelona after a 1-0 success over
Valencia at Camp Nou.
The versatile Adriano curled a superb shot into the top corner on 23 minutes and three minutes later Cesc Fabregas should have doubled the lead only to clip the outside of the post.
It guaranteed a nervy finale for the hosts and Barca were almost made to pay when Valencia defender Victor Ruiz headed a last-minute corner over the crossbar.

Granada 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu to register a first win of the season.
Portuguese attacker Ronaldo opened the scoring on 26 minutes and netted again eight minutes into the second half for his 150th goal in 149 appearances for Real.
Granada then saw Borja Gomez dismissed on the hour for a second yellow card before substitute Gonzalo Higuain, who had replaced Ronaldo, rounded off the scoring with 14 minutes left.

Goals in the space of four minutes midway through the first half from Samuele Longo and Sergio Tejera appeared to have Espanyol cruising towards the points.
However, Levante hit back early in the second period as Juanlu scored on 54 minutes and, two minutes later, Christian Lell levelled.
The hosts then had Vicente Iborra sent off for a second bookable offence with eight minutes left only for Espanyol's Raul Rodriguez to divert the ball into his own goal three minutes into stoppage-time.
Athletic Bilbao are now up and running for the season after claiming their first points of the campaign following a 2-0 home win over
Real Valladolid.
Markel Susaeta was denied by the post in the first half before Aritz Aduriz made the breakthrough for Bilbao on 69 minutes.
Carlos Gurpegi then struck the woodwork before Susaeta scored the second on 75 minutes to end Valladolid's 100 per cent start to the campaign.
