Crystal Palace striker Calvin Andrew will miss the start of next season due to a knee injury.

Striker suffers knee injury during loan spell at Brighton

Calvin Andrew will miss the start of next season after a knee injury ruled the Crystal Palace striker out for six months. The 22-year-old suffered the problem during his loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion when he featured against Stockport County on the final day of the League One season. He is now unlikely to be back in Neil Warnock's plans until the autumn after the Palace manager confirmed the severity of the injury. "It's quite a serious knee injury and he will be out for about six months," Warnock told the Croydon Guardian. "I was going to call him back and use him against Sheffield United if he wasn't playing in their last game, but they said he would. "Then he wasn't in the starting line-up, which wasn't our agreement, but came on anyway after 10 minutes." Andrew has started just one Championship game since joining Palace from Luton Town last summer, but scored three times in 10 appearances while at Brighton.
