McCombe on road to recovery

Port Vale defender John McCombe is set to make his comeback from injury with a run out in the reserves.

McCombe has been out for the last six weeks with a knee ligament problem he sustained against Fleetwood on New Year's Day. The centre-half has been pencilled in for a return to action on Tuesday when Vale face Evo-Stik Premier Division side Hednesford Town in the semi-finals of the Staffordshire Senior Cup.
