Bury goalkeeping coach Fred Barber has left the club to become assistant to new York manager Nigel Worthington.

Barber joined up with the Shakers at the start of this season following the departure of boss Richie Barker and predecessor Anthony Williams to Crawley, before being handed the post of a full-time basis when Kevin Blackwell was installed as Barker's successor. Blackwell told Bury's official website: "I'd like to thank Fred for his time and effort and that he has put into Bury FC, and for the help and assistance that he has given me whilst I have been here. We all wish him the very best for the future."
