Evans pays tribute to team-mates

Gareth Evans has paid tribute to his Fleetwood team-mates after they came from behind to record a 2-1 win over Bury on Saturday.

The former Rotherham man netted a 65th-minute winner after Antoni Sarcevic had pulled his side level in the early stages of the second period. Even though he scored the decisive goal, Evans believes the whole team played their part in the win. He told the club's official website: "I thought we played fantastically well and were dominant throughout. "We were very unlucky to go into the interval a goal behind but that is just the way football goes sometimes. "At half time the manager instructed us to go out in the second half and keep playing the way we were in the first and we came away with the three points." Evans singled Sarcevic out for praise after his superb finish set the wheels in motion for the Cod Army. "He (Sarcevic) has been fantastic since he signed," he added. "All of the lads were excited about what he brings to the team and there is potential for him to get even better. "His fantastic goal gave us momentum to push on for the victory and I was happy that I grabbed the winner."
