Armenteros has agreed a season-long loan move from Anderlecht and Feyenoord are eager to ensure his availability as they seek to secure their first points of a season that has started disastrously.
"Samuel is physically strong and technically very skilled," the club's technical director Martin van Geel said.
"We are pleased that by signing him we can give a new impetus to the squad.
"Within our capabilities, we will make every effort to ensure that Armenteros is eligible to play for the away match against Ajax."
Defeats to Zwolle and Twente have left Feyenoord third from bottom after two games, and Swedish marksman Armenteros is determined to inspire their climb up the table.
"Feyenoord have had a difficult start to the season, but that just motivates me more to help the club," he said.
"I'm fit and of course I hope I'm used immediately against Ajax. I'm looking forward to my first game.
"Feyenoord are a very nice club. It's important that I'm going to play this season and I hope I can add to the team by scoring goals."
Feyenoord boss Ronald Koeman is likely to give Sven van Beek his debut at right-back as Daryl Janmaat is injured.
Captain Stefan de Vrij and Jordy van Deelen are suspended for their dismissals against Twente.
Ajax are without skipper Siem de Jong, who has been ruled out for six weeks with a collapsed lung, and Ricardo van Rhijn serves a one-match ban after his sending off against AZ Alkmaar.
Last season's runners-up PSV have fared better than their title rivals after dispatching Den Haag and NEC Nijmegen in their two outings, scoring eight goals in the process.
They host Go Ahead Eagles at the Philips Stadion strengthened by the arrival of Park Ji-sung after the South Korean secured a work permit for his season-long loan from English club QPR.
However, they have lost teenage sensation Zakaria Bakkali to a groin injury sustained while on international duty with Belgium.
Go Ahead Eagles are likely to be missing Kevin Spanjaard and Patrick ter Mate to the treatment room.
Groningen, Heerenveen and Zwolle are the other teams with a 100 per cent record after two rounds of the Eredivisie, while ADO Den Haag, Heracles Almelo and Nijmegen are looking for their first points.
