Michael de Leeuw rescued a point for Groningen with a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at home to FC Twente in the Eredivisie on Wednesday.
Peruvian Renato Tapia had headed the visitors in front from a Hakim Ziyech corner just before the break but De Leeuw levelled with a near-post finish from Danny Hoesen's pass with six minutes remaining.
Cambuur came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at PEC Zwolle, with Erik Bakker sliding in the first at the far post and Sjoerd Overgoor side-footing in the second after a neat one-two with Bakker.
The home side had scored two goals in as many minutes in the first half as Dirk Marcellis slammed home a cut-back from former Nottingham Forest striker Lars Veldwijk and Sheraldo Becker found the top corner from just outside the area.
In the night's other game, Navarone Foor snatched an 88th-minute winner for NEC Nijmegen as they beat Excelsior 1-0 at the Goffertstadion.
