Promising midfielder drawing admiring glances from afar

Ryad Boudebouz is reported to be attracting interest from a number of clubs across Europe. The talented midfielder is currently on the books of French outfit Sochaux, but is expected to be the subject of big-money bids in January. Scouts from various sides have cast an eye over him in recent weeks and are believed to have been impressed by what they have seen. One of those said to have had Boudebouz watched on three occasions are Premier League giants Tottenham, who may be tempted into the New Year transfer market.

Positive

It is believed that a bid of around €5million (£4.2m) would be enough to lure the Algeria international away from Sochaux, and such a fee is unlikely to deter Spurs. They may have a battle on their hands, though, should they make a move as Boudebouz's current employers are well aware of the mounting interest in their prized asset. "This is normal because Ryad is developing well and has had a positive season so far," said a club official. France-born Boudebouz shone for Algeria at the 2010 World Cup and at just 20 years of age is expected to have a bright future ahead of him.
