The French forward joined Russian Premier League side Krasnodar in July after a six-month spell with Queens Park Rangers.
Cisse, who has 41 France caps to his name, has scored nine goals in 33 appearances for Krasnodar after signing a year-long contract in July.
However, the much-travelled striker may not see that deal through with a January move back to France seemingly on the cards.
Recent reports in France have suggest a move to Ligue 1 side Bastia was already sealed, but club officials claim there is still work to be done and revealed the forward has other offers to consider.
"It could not be official," Geronimi told French radio station RMC.
"First, the winter transfer market has not opened yet. Cisse is still a Krasnodar player.
"Then, Djibril Cisse has several offers. The Bastia one is in a good position. But I am annoyed by everyone stating it is already done, when it is not.
"There are some details remaining, but some important details like cancelling his current contract."
Last week, Cisse confirmed he would like to return to France, telling Canal Football Club: "My agent has been in touch with Bastia and other French clubs.
"I want to come back to France. There has been contact with Bastia."
