Dundee centre-back Kostadin Gadzhalov has signed a new 12-month contract with the Scottish Premiership club.

The 26-year-old has settled well at Dens Park since arriving as a free agent in January 2015 following his release from Bulgarian club Dobrudzha Dobrich, and he recently scored his first goal for the team in the derby win over Dundee United.

Gadzhalov's decision to stay on Tayside comes two days after Dutch striker Yordi Teijsse joined Paul Hartley's side from Quick Boys.

A statement from Dundee read: "We are delighted to announce that Kostadin Gadzhalov has signed a new one year deal with the club.
