Motherwell's Fir Park passed a 2.30pm pitch inspection ahead of Friday night's game against Aberdeen as Storm Barbara sweeps in.
The initial prognosis from Motherwell early on Friday had been positive but the outlook changed as heavy rain fell in Lanarkshire for much of the morning.
This prompted the club to call a lunchtime check, after which they said: "Referee Bobby Madden has passed the pitch at the moment, although weather forecasts remain unkind.
"After seeking advice from the league, the game is going ahead."
While Aberdeen fans will be heading south to the central belt in their hundreds, Partick Thistle supporters also face a long journey up the A9 from Glasgow to Dingwall.
Fans are being urged to plan their journeys well in advance and give themselves extra time when travelling.
The highest wind speeds are forecast for the Hebrides, the north west coast and the Northern Isles, with gusts expected of 80-90 mph but winds are also tipped to rise elsewhere in the country and rainfall is anticipated to be heavy.
Kilmarnock host St Johnstone while Hearts match at Dundee completes the evening programme.
A message from Dens Park read: "We are monitoring the weather ahead of tonight's game but at the moment there are no issues, we will update should anything change."
