Taylor talks battling back from injury and his Fantasy Team

Newcastle defender Ryan Taylor told Fantasy Football Club that he is on the route back to full fitness. The Liverpool-born star has not played for the Toon Army since tearing the cruciate ligaments in his right knee during a Europa League clash with Greek side Atromitos in August. But the 28-year-old free-kick specialist told Fenners and Robbie Fowler that he is making steady progress and hopes it is not too long before he dons a Newcastle strip once again. "My knee is not too bad; it has reacted well from the operation. The rehab is going well and I'm cracking on," said Taylor, who joined the Geordies from Wigan in 2009. "It's going to be a long time on the sidelines but I've just got to keep myself busy. I'll hopefully be back by the end of the season but I've got to make sure I'm ready for pre-season next year as it was quite a serious injury." Taylor has kept his mind occupied with Fantasy Football during his time on the treatment table - but says only one of his Magpies team-mates is currently in his first XI. "I tried to get a little league going with a few of the (Newcastle) lads and a lot of them gave it the old:' Yeah, I'll join' and then three weeks down the line there were only five of us in!" said the former Tranmere star. "I've got a half decent team in Fantasy Football - but I've only got Hatem Ben Arfa (from Newcastle). I did have Papiss (Cisse) for the first few games but he wasn't scoring so I had to take him out."
