Laura O'Sullivan says Wales have been working hard to prepare for the game against England

Wales goalkeeper Laura O'Sullivan believes her side can maintain their unbeaten run in the World Cup qualifiers and beat England.

Both sides come into the match at St Mary's Stadium on Friday having won all their qualifiers so far.

England beat Wales 4-0 in their last meeting and kicked off the qualifying campaign with a 6-0 win over Russia in September.

But Wales quietly went about their business, taking 10 points from 12 in their four games to sit top of Group 1.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, O'Sullivan said: "It would mean the world to us [to beat England]. We have worked tremendously hard on and off the pitch whatever we do we prepare and recover.

"When we come to these days we work really hard to get here. To beat teams like that just shows where we are coming from and how far we have come as well.

"We are only a small country and everyone may write us off sometimes but we just go in and do what we can and we are a good squad so we will put in everything we can."

Asked if they can beat England she said: "Of course we can, never say never."

While Wales have been working as a team to score goals, O 'Sullivan has managed to keep four straight clean sheets against Russia, Kazakhstan and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"At the end of the day, sometimes goals do matter but saving them matters as well and it stops those games going to 1-1 and only getting a point out of them so that's massive," O'Sullivan added.

"But there are 10 other people on that pitch as well and they do everything they can to stop that ball coming towards me.

"If it does, you just have to be the hero don't you sometimes? But it is great to have those clean sheets."
