Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal is the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for April.

He has led Wednesday into the play-offs and took 19 points from a possible 21 in the month, winning five games by a single-goal margin.

Having spent much of the season sitting no higher than sixth, the Yorkshire side's late flourish means it's possible they could claim third place in the final round of matches this weekend.

Carvalhal said: "Sheffield Wednesday fans know that I prefer the collective awards more than the individual, because football is a collective sport.

"I need to thank the players, the fans, the cook, because I'm part of a big group that tries every day to be better and better.
