Abbott to look for back-up to Collin

Carlisle United goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley has been ruled out for six weeks, prompting Greg Abbott to line up cover for Adam Collin. Pidgeley suffered a broken hand in training on Friday and that left rookie keeper Mark Gillespie as the back-up to Collin for the 2-0 defeat at Swindon Town. Cumbrians boss Abbott is now exploring options in the loan market to ensure he is not left short of a senior keeper should Collin join Pidgeley on the sidelines. "We have got to make some phone calls to make sure there is a goalkeeper available should Adam suffer any problems," Abbott told the News & Star. "That process has started and we have to make sure we are ready for it." Pidgeley joined the League One club last summer and started the season as first choice, but he has subsequently lost his place to Collin in recent months.
