Massimo Donati says he is happy to stay at Celtic following the appointment of Tony Mowbray as manager, but is still prepared to consider a return to Italy.
The midfielder spent much of last season looking to leave Parkhead after falling out with former boss Gordon Strachan and he made just four SPL appearances.
He was linked with several Serie A clubs, but has revealed the arrival of Mowbray has given him a new lease of life with the Old Firm giants.
However, after Sampdoria showed a tentative interest, the former AC Milan man is open to moving back to Italy despite his current contentment in Glasgow.
Concerned
"There was a period when I was very concerned and felt that I was unable to even talk to the coaching staff," Donati told the
Daily Record.
"Now that's all changed. I feel more involved and an important part of the team.
"At the end of last season I expressed my desire to return to Italy because I had a disagreement with the coach Gordon Strachan.
"Now things have changed and if I stay here, I'm happy. I'm preparing for the new season with Celtic.
"Sampdoria were interested, but they have not done anything about it because me moving there was dependent on them selling Daniele Dessena.
"But if an Italian club made me an offer then I would consider it."
