Luca Toni is facing up to the possibility that he may be without a club during the coming summer months.
The Italian striker, who is on loan at Roma from Bayern Munich, is out of favour at both clubs and it unlikely to be offered any sort of deal to be kept on at either.
The 32-year-old, who was hopeful of a place in Marcello Lippi's World Cup squad, where they will look to defend the title they won in 2006 which Toni was a part of, is reported in the Italian press to no longer be wanted by Roma president Rosella Sensi.
With Toni also falling out of favour with Bayern boss Louis Van Gaal, who has just secured the first of three possible title this season by winning the Bundesliga, there is little chance of the experienced striker returning to Germany.
Solution
Toni is also reported to have not impressed Roma's influential captain Francesco Totti, who he did not hit it off with in what was meant to be a flourishing partnership under manager Claudio Ranieri's stewardship.
"He (Toni) has to be realistic about his future with Bayern Munich," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to German broadcaster

"It is up to him and his agent to find a solution in Italy."
Despite being regarded as arguably his country's finest striker a few years ago, Toni has fallen somewhat down the pecking order at club and international level.
However it seems likely that there will be no shortage of takers should he be without a club in the summer, with a possible move to an English club on the cards.
