Nice and Evian both picked up another point in the battle for Ligue 1 survival with a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Riviera.

Evian took an 18th-minute lead through Dany Nounkeu, Daniel Wass having wasted an earlier chance to put them in front from the penalty spot, but they had to rely on an Adrien Thomasson equaliser 12 minutes from time to earn a share of the spoils.

Goals either side of half-time from Alexy Bosetti and Valentin Eysseric had turned the match in Nice's favour.

The draw left hosts Nice six points clear of the drop zone, with their opponents two points worse off.

Evian should have taken the lead after 10 minutes when Nice goalkeeper Simon Pouplin fouled Clarck N'Sikulu, but the keeper made amends by pushing away Wass' penalty.

The visitors did go in front eight minutes later when Nounkeu fired home at the near post following Wass' free-kick from the right.

Bosetti turned and shot just over as Nice sought a leveller and they got one on the stroke of half-time.

Said Benrahma led a swift counter-attack before freeing Bosetti inside the area to clip the ball over keeper Benjamin Leroy.

Niklas Hult volleyed narrowly wide for Nice early in the second half and N'Sikulu was denied by Pouplin at the other end before the hosts moved 2-1 ahead in the 68th minute.

Eysseric broke down field and released Bosetti in plenty of space. His shot was saved by the exposed Leroy, but Eysseric was on hand to tap home the rebound.

Evian were not beaten, though, and snatched a point when Thomasson pounced on a poor clearance to stab the ball home.
