Matt Crooks begins his suspension when Northampton host Rotherham in League One on Saturday.
The midfielder was sent off in last week's 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers, his third dismissal of the season, and will now begin a three-match ban.
Striker Kevin van Veen could be involved as he was due to return to training this week after a knee injury but Aaron Pierre and Aaron Phillips (both thigh) miss out. Goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell will come up against the club he left in January.
Rotherham boss Paul Warne looks set to make changes after a second successive defeat in midweek. The Millers went down 3-2 at MK Dons on Tuesday and Warne is likely to respond by freshening up his side.
Josh Emmanuel is a good bet to come back in at right-back while Matty Palmer, Jon Taylor and Ryan Williams are all vying for starts. Jamie Proctor is still missing with a knee injury suffered in August but Warne says the striker could return next month.
The Cobblers are unbeaten in their last six home matches against Rotherham (W3 D3) since a 1-0 defeat in October 2000.
Rotherham haven't completed a league double over Northampton since the 2000-01 season.
Northampton have drawn three consecutive EFL matches for the first time since drawing their opening five League One games during the 2016-17 campaign.
Rotherham have lost back-to-back league games, having won each of their previous seven during a 14-game unbeaten run (W11 D3).
