Norwich v Portsmouth preview

Image: Hreidarsson: Remains on sidelines

Team news for Saturday's Championship clash between Norwich and Portsmouth at Carrow Road.

Norwich captain Grant Holt serves a one-game suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season against Derby last weekend, so Simeon Jackson is set to partner Chris Martin in attack. Martin will make his 100th appearance for the Canaries but midfielder Andrew Surman continues to sit out as he battles to overcome a knee injury. Full-backs Adam Drury (calf) and Steven Smith (hip) and midfielders Matt Gill (calf) and Stephen Hughes (ankle) all remain sidelined. Centre-half Zak Whitbread, who has been dogged by injury since joining the club, also remains out with an ankle problem. Portsmouth defender Carl Dickinson serves the final game of a three-match ban following his red card against Doncaster last month. Hermann Hreidarsson is still not ready to start a match following his recent recovery from a long-term Achilles injury so youngster Joel Ward continues at left-back. Midfielder Hayden Mullins has been struggling with a knee injury of late but will continue to play through the pain, so Pompey should be unchanged from the side which beat Swansea a fortnight ago. Striker Danny Webber is continuing his recovery from a cruciate injury and is not expected to return to training until the end of January at the earliest.
