Oxford have some new faces available as they seek to get their season up and running when Fleetwood visit the Kassam Stadium in Sky Bet League One.
Manager Karl Robinson brought in midfielders Jamie Hanson, Ricky Holmes and Tsun Dai on a busy transfer deadline day. They will provide fresh options as the U’s look for their first points after a 4-0 thrashing at Barnsley on the opening day of the season.
Robinson will again check on the fitness of summer loan signing Marcus Browne, who has been troubled by a knee injury.
Fleetwood are also seeking their first league win under new manager Joey Barton after defeat to AFC Wimbledon last time out. Barton will be pleased transfer deadline day has passed without the club losing highly-regarded players such as Cian Bolger, Alex Cairns and Kyle Dempsey.
Summer signings Ched Evans, Tommy Spurr and Lewie Coyle are all likely to feature again. Veteran Dean Marney, a substitute last weekend, could also be in contention.
Oxford haven't beaten Fleetwood in any of their previous eight league meetings, losing seven and drawing the other.
Fleetwood have won each of their last five league games against Oxford, keeping a clean sheet in four of those matches.
Oxford are looking to win three consecutive home league games for the first time since August 2017.
Fleetwood have lost four of their last five league games, with the only exception being a 2-0 win against Walsall on the final day of 2017-18.
No League One side faced more shots on target on the opening day than Oxford (12), with the U's shipping four goals against Barnsley.
