Injuries to Ahmed Kashi and Jay Dasilva mean Charlton boss Karl Robinson must make changes. Kashi faces another two weeks out after injuring his right foot in the closing stages of the 2-0 home loss to Shrewsbury.
Chelsea loanee Dasilva has an ankle problem sustained in the same game and could be out for up to six weeks in total. Stephy Mavididi (hamstring) remains out.
These sides have never shared a goalless draw in 20 previous meetings in all competitions.
Charlton have lost just one of their previous six league matches at London Road (W3 D2), although it was in the most recent meeting last season.
The Posh are unbeaten in their last five league games (W1 D4), and have only lost one of their last nine, although they have drawn six of those matches (W2).
The Addicks are unbeaten in their last four away games in League One (W2 D2), this after a run of three straight defeats on the road in the competition.
New Peterborough boss Steve Evans has failed to win any of his five previous meetings with Charlton (D4 L1), losing his most recent clash at home against them (2-1 when in charge of Leeds at Elland Road).
