Peterborough could put striker Omar Bogle straight into their squad for the Sky Bet League One clash against Southend.
Bogle joined Posh from Championship side Cardiff just ahead of the transfer deadline. Midfielders George Cooper and Joe Ward are available again after being cup-tied for last weekend's clash against Leicester.
Gwion Edwards continues to recover from an ankle injury, while forward Ricky Miller has headed out on loan to Mansfield.
Southend were also busy ahead of the deadline, with striker Shayon Harrison coming in on loan from Tottenham. Forward Freddie Ladapo arrived from Crystal Palace and midfielder Sam Mantom from Scunthorpe while defender Stephen Hendrie moved to Motherwell until the end of the season.
Midfielder Anthony Wordsworth continues his recovery from a calf problem along with Josh Wright (hamstring). Centre-back Rob Kiernan remains a long-term absentee after undergoing an operation on his knee.
These sides have already met twice before this season, a 1-1 draw in the reverse league meeting and a 2-0 Peterborough win at the ABAX Stadium in the FL Trophy.
Peterborough will be looking to beat Southend on two separate occasions at home within a single season for the second time, having also done so in the 1975/76 campaign.
However, the Shrimpers are unbeaten in their last three trips to Peterborough in League One (D1 L2).
The Posh have lost just one of their last seven league games (W4 D2).
Marc-Antoine Fortuné has scored in back-to-back league appearances against Peterborough for Southend; against no other side has he scored more than once for the Shrimpers in league football.
