Former England striker returns while Pilgrims look for first home win

Andrew Cole is poised to return for Nottingham Forest as Plymouth are set to name an unchanged side in Saturday's game at Home Park. The former Manchester United front man looks set to make only his second start for Forest, replacing the injured Robert Earnshaw, who is out with a hamstring problem. Midfielder Arron Davies, who has been out for the last seven games with a calf injury, came through the midweek friendly against Notts County to bolster his chances of facing the Pilgrims. Fellow midfielder Matt Thornhill is unavailable as he serves a one-match ban following his red card against Charlton last weekend and he joins Lewis McGugan (thigh), Paul Anderson (thigh) and Joe Garner (knee) on the sidelines. New loan acquisition Joel Lynch is expected to be named in the squad but the Brighton defender may be forced to settle for a place on the bench.

Plymouth news

Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock is expected to name an unchanged side as Argyle look for their first home win of the season. The Pilgrims return to Home Park after a profitable spell on their travels to the capital which saw them earn 2-1 wins at both Watford and Crystal Palace. Sturrock made seven changes before the win at Vicarage Road, but was unable to name the same side against Palace after losing left-back Jim Patterson to a thigh injury. Patterson remains unavailable, so Chris Barker will continue to deputise, with fellow defenders Gary Sawyer (hamstring) and David McNamee (hamstring) also absent. The Pilgrims have collected just one point from their three home games so far this season.
