Boss Steve McClaren will be seeking to avoid a third straight loss when QPR host Peterborough in the Carabao Cup.

Paul Smyth was replaced at half-time of Saturday's 2-1 loss to Sheffield United by Bright Osayi-Samuel, who could come in to start. Defender Darnell Furlong remains unavailable and no date has been set for his recovery from a long-term knee injury.

Defender Grant Hall is nearing his return following a seven-month absence with a knee problem.

After two wins in two League One games, Peterborough will be eyeing an upset against Rangers. Mark O'Hara scored twice in Saturday's 4-1 win at Rochdale, when new signing Ivan Toney made his debut off the substitutes' bench.

Toney, signed from Newcastle, could make his first start at Loftus Road. Boss Steve Evans has been impressed by Siriki Dembele, who has taken the place of wantaway winger Marcus Maddison, and does not plan to make many changes.
