Helguson doubt for home side; Laws considers rotation

Mid-table duo Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday go head-to-head in the Championship on Easter Monday. QPR caretaker boss Gareth Ainsworth could again be without the services of Heidar Helguson for the home clash. The Iceland striker is still struggling with a hamstring injury and played no part in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at play-off chasing Burnley. Skipper Martin Rowlands, fellow midfielder Akos Buzsaky (both knee) and forward Patrick Agyemang (thigh) remain long-term injury absentees. Despite the defeat at Turf Moor, Ainsworth declared himself pleased with his players' efforts and could therefore keep any changes to a minimum. Ainsworth - back in temporary charge of Rangers following Thursday night's sacking of manager Paulo Sousa - said: "Burnley is always a tough place to come but the lads battled away to the final second and I'm very proud of the boys."

Owls team news

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws could shuffle his pack for the trip to face managerless QPR at Loftus Road. Strikers Leon Clarke and Akpo Sodje and midfielder Etienne Esajas have all fought back to fitness and made a favourable impression during Saturday's defeat to Derby. The Rams triumphed 1-0 at Hillsborough but Clarke, Sodje and Esajas all came off the bench to make their mark. And Laws said: "Etienne Esajas has certainly got qualities but his fitness is down. We want to get him involved in games now because he can make things happen and excite the crowd. "Sodje and Clarkey were excellent when they went on too so they are real positives for the game. "It should be possible to get around an hour out of the pair of them on Monday so we will look to see if we can do that."
