Champions League: Real Madrid face Borussia Dortmund and trail 4-1

Real Madrid will have Cristiano Ronaldo available as Jose Mourinho's side attempt to overturn a 4-1 deficit against Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

Dortmund, inspired by Robert Lewandowski's four-goal blitz a week ago, are overwhelming favourites to reach next month's final at Wembley. A date with Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich on May 25th is looking likely after Jupp Heynckes' side hammered Barcelona 4-0 at the Allianz Arena. However, Real defender Sergio Ramos is feeling confident and he believes the supporters in the Santiago Bernabeu could play a key role in helping the club to reach the final for the first time since 2002. "We are eager for revenge after the result in Dortmund," said Ramos. "We are playing for our life and the fans will get the game going from the first minute. "Mentally the team is confident they can overcome the tie. We want to do our talking on the pitch." Real, though, will be wary of launching a cavalry charge at a Dortmund side who are unbeaten on their travels in Europe this year as it would leave their shaky defence even more exposed than usual. They have the leakiest backline of the four teams remaining with 18 goals conceded, and have kept only one clean sheet in the competition so far. The second leg is also a challenge to Real coach Jose Mourinho's prestige as failure to progress from a third successive Champions League semi-final would test the patience of club president Florentino Perez. With the Primera Liga title about to fall to Barcelona, and Real's European campaign hanging by a thread, next month's King's Cup final may end up representing Mourinho's last chance for major silverware this season. Dortmund, who last week made sure of a Champions League group spot for next season, are looking to reach their first final since winning the trophy in 1997. Coach Jurgen Klopp is confident his team will cope with the occasion and said his team's performance against Bayern in the 2012 German Cup final in Berlin - when Lewandowski scored a hat-trick - was proof they can perform under pressure. "For us it's the same situation as last year's German Cup final," he said. "We were the German champions and Bayern Munich wanted to beat us in this game, change their whole season. "They gave their all and my team was pretty cool in this moment because the only way to reach your dream is to be brave."Cristiano Ronaldo has been passed fit for the second leg after recovering from a thigh muscle damaged in the 4-1 defeat in Dortmund. The top scorer in the competition this season with 12 goals returned to training with his team-mates on Monday after sitting out Saturday's 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid. Aside from injured full-backs Alvaro Arbeloa and Marcelo, Mourinho will be selecting from a full-strength Madrid squad.Dortmund look set to recall all their big names after Klopp made 10 changes to the team for Saturday's 2-1 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf to tighten their hold on second spot. Klopp will hope to have a full squad to choose from with midfielder Nuri Sahin's showing, which included the first goal, possibly earning him a starting spot. The only worry for Klopp concerns Lukasz Piszczek, with the full-back due to undergo a late fitness test on a groin strain, while Ilkay Gundogan and Mario Gotze have shaken off minor injuries.
