Luke Mulholland's second-half strike earned Real Salt Lake a 1-1 Major League Soccer draw with San Jose Earthquakes at Rio Tinto Stadium on Friday.
The Earthquakes opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Simon Dawkins' corner evaded a series of bodies in the box and Chris Wondolowski swooped to fire home from six yards.
But Real Salt Lake levelled things after 64 minutes when Javier Morales' ball found Mulholland in space and he struck a volley into the back of the net.
The result leaves Real Salt Lake fourth in the Western Conference, while San Jose Earthquakes remain in eighth in the division.
