Thats it from me tonight. Hope you enjoyed the commentary - and , if you're Irish, the outcome. not a classic but a fairytale for Robbie Keane. The night very much belonged to him in more ways than one.
Unsurprisingly it was Robbie Keane who stole the show on the occasion of his 126th appearance. He now has 59 goals for his country
Full time - this could and should have been far more comprehensive for the Irish but its a good way to end the season's qualifiers - up to third and still have a chance of qualifying.
Coleman slides it insde for Keane, who tries to play it back to Coleman but can't - the corner falls to Cox on the edge of the box but his shot is well over
Coleman played it into Sammon on the near post, he turns and knocks it across the six-yard line - who else but Robbie Keane is there to tap in
McGeady is brought off, much to his obvious disgust - shame really as he's done really well tonight. James McLean is on
They can't cope with McGeady's direct way of playing. He's runs from collecting the ball on the halfway line- unchallenged to the edge of the box... he needs to make more of the final pass though or his decision making at the end of a run.. so much opportunity
Cox plays the ball in from the right, falls to McGeady but he can't put the gloss on his great performance this time - hits the ball into the ground and its harmless
Good move, the excellend McGeady plays a cross-field pass to Cox who plays in in first time but it just evades Walters as the ball's cleared at the near post.
Great play by McGeady again, this time though it's Coleman's ball in between goalkeeper and the last line of defence... he slides it across from the right and Robbie Keane gobbles up the chance on the back post - and easy finish
Glenn Whelan picks it up in midfield and drives forwrd but there's no option available and eventually he plays it too far in front of Walters
Christian Holst is consumed with rage as he feels he should've had a penalty for a push on him by St Ledger possibly a bit of a let off for the Irish there
Ok, we're back underway - remember, you can have your say by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet me @1rebs
That's it for the first half - fairly mundane stuff to be honest, but the three points will surely be in the bag
McGeady finds himself central... drives forward, hits a powerful shot but straight at Nielsen - he's been the pick of the Irish in the first half
Good move from the Faroes, flicked in by Holst for Klettskaro but he just can't control it on the edge of the box
But its given away, McGeady has it again, this time his cross is headed over the bar by the defender.. the corner comes to nothing and is cleared... but it comes back.. Cox's cross is over hit, Walters rescues it from the other side but his cross is poor
Ireland's latest corner is headed away, and the Faroes have some possession coming up their right and win....A THROW IN!!
Austria are 2-0 up against Sweden in the other game in this group - so any points here will leave Ireland in 3rd
Free kick to Ireland 25 yards out on the left... Very well worked - Cox plays it into Walters, its flicked through to Robbie Keane, but its well saved... the corner comes in - header from Walters is straight at the goalkeeper
Ireland come again with McGeady.. has a shot but its blocked, Coleman turns it in towards Robbie Keane who launches himself for the bicycle kick but doesn't make contact
Walters flicks a long ball on and a sliced clearance goes up into the air but the goalkeeper claims....
Ireland still being patient, knocking the ball around - can they show the endeavour to go and really run riot tonight?
Great run from McGeady past a couple of Faroe Island defenders, but he crosses from too far out really - its blocked.
Keane through to Coleman but he's offside as he tries to pull it across goal - looks a poor decision
Pretty slow moving game - the Faroes have no real desire for anything other than damage limitation and Ireland seem happy to knock it about
Walters plays it through at the other end but Keane just can't control it, that would've been a chance... Ireland have it again and Keane plays in Walters but his shot is blocked
Remember you can tell me what you think of procedings tonight via twitter @1rebs or email email@example.com
I'm not sure the Faroe Islands have had anything surmounting to possession yet, never mind anything else!
Walters wins a corner - taken by McGeady, short - works his way into the box but his shot is woeful, pulls it past the near post
Tommy CampbellWe dont just need a win we need a big one. Goal difference could be will be huge 4/5 needed tonight.
FAROE ISLANDS: Nielsen; Justinussen, Frederiksberg, Gregersen, Vatnsdal; Baldvinsson, Samuelsen, Olsen, Holst; Klettskard, Jonsson
SUBS: Keogh, Sammon, Delaney, O'Dea, Randolph, Hendrick, McClean, Westwood, McShane, Dunne, Kelly, Quinn

Could be a big night for the Irish.. with Austria and Sweden plaing each other - a win for Trapatonni's men could see them move into 2nd in the group behind Germany
