Late goals from Bonfim Marlos and Cleiton Xavier maintained Metalist Kharkiv's hopes of reaching the Europa League knockout stages as they came from behind to win 2-1 in Rosenborg in Group K.
The Ukrainians went into the game as big favourites but were under pressure from the start with Borek Dockal forcing goalkeeper Oleksandr Goryainov to punch away his shot from 18 yards after 16 minutes.
Looking edgy, Goryainov fumbled a cross from Mikael Dorsin, and could only parry a shot from the left channel by Rade Prica as the Norwegians pressed for an opener.
Sebastian Blanco had Metalist's first real chance in the 27th minute when he lashed a left-foot shot over the bar, then Freda Taison came even closer with a right-foot drive which home keeper Daniel Orlund tipped round the post.
Goryainov saved a close-range header by John Chibuike before Rosenborg grabbed a deserved lead one minute into the second half when Chibuike crossed for Tarik Elyounoussi to fire home low from 12 yards.
Goryainov fumbled another effort from Jonas Svensson then saved superbly to deny Prica as Rosenborg pressed for a second, with Tore Reginiussen firing just over the bar from the resulting corner.
Chibuike brought another fine save out of the keeper before Metalist grabbed their equaliser with 10 minutes to go, Marlos firing home low from the edge of the six-yard box after a cross from Cristian Villagra.
And Metalist grabbed victory in the 89th minute after Taison was fouled by Mikkel Diskerud and Cleiton blasted the resulting free-kick past Orlund from 20 yards.
