Aldershot beat Rotherham in the FA Cup and did it again in the league with a 2-1 win.

Grant at the double as Aldershot beat Rotherham away

Aldershot dumped Rotherham out of the FA Cup earlier in the season and proved it was no fluke as John Grant scored twice in a 2-1 League Two win. The Millers created three good early chances and should have led in the 10th minute when leading scorer Reuben Reid controlled Ryan Taylor's cross perfectly and then blazed his shot high over the bar. Six minutes later Rotherham were made to pay for that miss. Lewis Chalmers' long throws were causing real panic in the Rotherham defence and one of his efforts picked out Grant inside the six-yard box and he simply turned the ball into the net at the far post. Worse was to follow for the home side in the 39th minute. Their defence was again caught napping by a Scott Davies corner and Grant was unchallenged as he headed in his second of the night. Rotherham turned up the heat at the start of the second half with Taylor going close and Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz made a good save from Reid. Substitute Jamie Clarke stepped inside his marker to nod home a Micky Cummins cross as Rotherham pulled a goal back after 78 minutes but Aldershot held out for only their third away win of the season.
