Thanks for all your feedback tonight - great views! I hope you enjoyed the commentary and join us for another game soon
Its over - a fantastically professional performance from Chelsea. Schalke threatened but you always felt Chelsea were in control.
David Luiz tries to get in on the act as a clearance falls to him at the edge of the area but his shot is just wide
it was another breakaway - a clearance saw Hazard and Torres through with just one defender back for the home side... Hazard used the run of Torres to create space and finished coolly past Hildebrand
Johnny : It may be 2-0 but I still thing we need one more goal to finish the game off. Schalke are still dangerous
It was a fantastic break from Chelsea - Hazard won the ball.. it was taken on at great pace by Oscar who held off the challenges and had the awareness to square it to an unmarked Fernando Torres... he took his time, sat the goalkeeper down and slotted home
Will Schalke break through - you tell me via email - firstname.lastname@example.org or twitter - "1rebs
Howedes should have scored, the corner was headed back across goal and the defender had a free header and put it wide
you start to wonder if Schalke do have a goal in them - if they have the nouse to break down Chelsea - great work in Midfield but so far no-one to deliverthe killer touch
Chelsea just knocking the ball around at the moment but Schalke's breaks are dangerous - here comes Meyer... Aogo's ball again - but Cech dives to clear
Benjy : Chelsea are looking fantastic in defence all we need now is Juan Mata to come in and make the difference on the other end
Uchida finds himself in space - plays for the corner, and wins it... Clemens ball is cleared by Torres - falls to Boateng, but his cross is claimed by Cech
Freekick from Lampard is met by Torres but he hits the underside of the cross-bar - that was a superb header
Willie: Delighted with the torres goal coming so early and I thought chelsea might push on further from it, but it's been disappointing going forward so far, they need to show more grit in the second half because shalke will score! bring on mata for schurrle and chelsea will be more creative. still say 2-1 chelsea. Come on you blue beauties!!!
Keep your opinions coming in email email@example.com or tweet me @1rebs.... seems most of you are pretty happy with the performance but slightly worried by Schalke coming back into it. The Germans have looked dangerous, especially down the left with Aogo - will Mourinho try to combat that?
Max: Come on Chelsea u need to sharpen up. Where is the class we where promised that would come with Mourinho.
The Deano: If we don't score early in the 2nd half I can see us not winning this, get mata on to create some magic
Richard from Nottinghamshire: I predict Chelsea win 3-0 Oscar and Lampard penalty but why has Jose fallen out with Kevin de Bruyne he is a great great player!!!
From Toby: CHELSEA to win 3-0 with Mata and Lampard to score! CHELSEA is definitely going to win. COME ON BLUES!!!
So as the teams head into the dressing rooms, what would you be saying if you were Jose Mourinho? How do you see this going in the second half? what have you made of the performance so far?
We're in stoppage time now - 1 minute of it..... and there goes the whistle 1-0 half time lead for Chelsea
Schurrle comes forward and looks to find Torres but Schalke deal with it well.. from the throw-in Chelsea are pushed back to the halfway line
sriramkrishna : Chelsea need to hold the ball rather than losing it continuously .Hazard has also had a quiet game for the Blues.
Another good ball from Aogo, Meyer knocks it back for Draxler but its blocked - Schalke are really giving it a go here
This time there's a huge scramble in the goalmouth - boots flying but no-one can quite get the telling touch and Chelsea survive
Great move from the home side sees a ball into the area from Aogo but Cech saves the header, the ball falls to Boateng, but his shot is saved - corner
Chelsea content to slow the game down in midfield but now they spring forward - Oscar plays it through for Hazard - great run from the Belgian - but he's crowded out
Chelsea play the offside trap to perfection again as Boateng looks to get in behind - frustrating for the home side
The game has settled down a lot in the past 5 mins. fairly even, although the home side are looking dangerous from wide positions. Chelsea very disciplined as you'd expect of a Mourinho side
Azpilicueta gives the ball away in a dangerous position - Uchida looks to getaway to square the ball, but Azpilicueta makes up for his mistake with a good tackle
good move from Schalke - good through ball from Neustadter puts Uchida in but his shot is high and wide
Ivanovic gets forward, cuts into the area and tries a one-two with Oscar. the ball eventually falls to the Brazilianbut his shot is way off target
Draxler threads it through to Aogo, he's one-on -one but Cech pulls off a great save - but it wouldnt have counted - the flag is up
Good run by Uchida, but he slips at the vital moment, the crowd want a free-kick but nothing is given
Aogo puts a decent ball across into the box but Schalke have no-one in there. Chelsea getting plenty of bodies behind the ball
Chelsea have got control of the possession now after the goal... seems to have shocked the home side - although the crowd are still up for it
You got your wish!.....Willie: big game tonight for chelsea and in my opinion a must win! would love to see torres score but i have my doubts. 2-1 to chelsea tonight with oscar scoring again and eto'o to get one when he comes on for torres
Dreadful clearance by Hildebrand falls to Lampard but his long-range effort doesn't punish the goalkeeper
The early goal from Chelsea - vital in quietening the crowd in this stadium who were creating a hostile atmosphere
Chelsea sit third in the Group E table behind Schalke and Basel but a win tonight could take them top
The team news is in.... Chelsea line up like this...Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (c), Azpilicueta; Ramires, Lampard; Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard; Torres
email me firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet me @1rebs... let me know what you think as we go through the night
