Nearly number seven for Real as Benzema fluffs a late volley and then Isco heads over. The final whistle goes.
GOAL HUNTELAAR: The best goal of the game believe it or not as the Dutchman cracks home a superb volley from the edge of the area to give the home fans a cheer late on.
GOAL RONALDO: Ronaldo has the last laugh as Isco and Benzema punish a mistake and set the Portuguese star clear into the box, who rounds the keeper and fires past the man on the line.
Ronaldo currently on the floor just outside the Schalke box after being floored by Matip - quite fairly and the crowd start to jeer.
Nearly number six as Marcelo finds Benzema in the Schalke box - Fahrmann saves but the whistle has gone anyway for offside.
No joy again from a Schalke attack as Obasi loses control of the ball on the right flank and it is out for a Real throw.
Jese shoulder-charged to the ground in the box by Santana but all within the rules and a goal-kick to the hosts as the ball goes behind.
Real close in on the Scalke goal with a little less zest now as they save their legs for the weekend and Sunday's Madrid derby.
Brilliant skill again from Ronaldo to fashion an opening but his shot from the edge of the area is saved.

Modric felled just inside the Schalke half and a free-kick to Real. It was a rash challenge and Huntelaar goes in the book.
GOAL BALE: The Welshman doubles his tally for the night as he storms on to a superb through ball by Ramos and coolly slots the ball home.
Best move of the game for Schalke sets Farfan clear down the right but his cross is poor and easily dealt with by Xabi Alonso.
The free-kick is pumped into the Schalke box and the result is another corner for Real. Modric takes and Pepe heads goalwards but Benzema can't get another touch to make it 5-0.
Throw on the right for Real deep in the Schalke half. Ronaldo then wins a free-kick on the other side of the pitch.
GOAL BENZEMA: Number four is not far away after all as Benzema and Ronaldo play a lovely one-two to set the Frenchman clear and he beats Fahrmann from a tight angle.
Ramos goes forward and loses possession so is caught out of position as Schalke break. But normality is restored and the attack from the Germans breaks down.
Benzema almost adds number four as di Maria this time dances into the box and crosses to the far post only for the striker to fire over the bar.
GOAL RONALDO: Just brilliant. Joel Matip is mesmorised by a flurry of stepovers from Ronaldo, who then fires beyond the outstretched arms of Fahrmann.
Casillas forced to make the save to keep out a long range effort by Boateng. Meyer then horribly shanks the rebound and it spins harmlessly up in the air inside the Real area.

It can surely only be a matter of time before Cristiano Ronaldo scores on his return from three matches out and he is 16/5 to score the next goal with Sky Bet. Julian Draxler is the subject of a half-time Price Boost and he is 25/1 to find the target next for the hosts.
There looks like little way back for Schalke as they trail 2-0 at the break and can be backed at 20/1 with Sky Bet. Real Madrid have been oustanding and could be twice as far clear - they are 1/33 with the draw 11/1.

Bale pops up on the left now and his low cross almost finds Benzema six yards out for a virtual tap-in.
Ronaldo wins a free-kick 30 yards from goal that he fires against the wall. He gets a mulligan on the volley which is deflected behind for a corner.
More great play from Real releases Modric but a strong challenge from Sead Kolasinac nudges him off the ball with trouble brewing.
Another chance for Schalke goes over the bar while Ronaldo is thwarted again at the other end as Fahrmann makes the block. Corner on the left for Real.
The lively Meyer tries to get something going from midfield but his ball through to Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is intercepted.
Marcelo, di Maria and Ronaldo combine with some panache inside the Schalke area but the latter can't just find an attempt on goal as the space is closed down.
Superb from Ronaldo as he frightens the Schalke defence with his pace and then unleashes a shot from the edge of the box that bounces back off the far post and into the hands of a very grateful Fahrmann.
Ronaldo tumbles on the edge of the Schalke area and looks for a free-kick but nothing doing. A rueful grin follows.
Di Maria takes the corner and it flashes across the six-yard box but no orange shirt is there to poke it home.
Long crossfield pass from Ramos goes over the head of Bale on the right and the Welshman loses the chase to retrieve it. Schalke throw-in.
Surging run from Angel di Maria takes him into the Schalke penalty box but the ball won't sit for him and he can't get his shot away. The flag goes up for an offside as well.
A stunned Schalke have not done a lot wrong to be honest. Meyer has a header from distance that floats past the upright.
GOAL BALE: Brilliant from the Welshman as Benzema finds him in space and he slaloms past two home defenders before firing past Fahrmann from just inside the penalty box.
Lovely ball from Modric finds Daniel Carvajal with plenty of time on the right but he rushes his cross and it sails right across the Schalke area.
Bale has some space to run into on the right but a good tackle by Felipe Santana halts his progress.
Schalke are almost on level terms immediately as Julian Draxler forces a superb point-blank save from Casillas. The rebound is then fired over the bar from close range by Meyer.
GOAL BENZEMA: The French striker fires home from 12 yards after the ball breaks nicely for him following good work from Bale and a canny flick from Ronaldo.
Deep cross is met in the middle of the Real area by Kevin-Prince Boateng but his header is caught with the minimum of fuss by Casillas.
Good possession for the hosts and a nice cross from the right but Sergio Ramos is there on the penalty spot to head clear.
Ronaldo finds Marcelo on the left in a bit of space on the Schalke area but the latter's cross is weak and easily cleared.
Luka Modric attempts a long ball over the top for Gareth Bale to chase but it is too strong and runs through to home 'keeper Ralf Fahrmann.

The corner is delivered from the right and defender Benedikt Howedes heads just wide as Iker Casillas scrambles across his goal. Goal-kick to Real Madrid.
Early throw on the right for Schalke as Pepe scampers across to clear from just outside his own area. The hosts then win the first corner of the game.
