Scunthorpe's new signings Greg Luer and Dominic Vose could make their debuts in the home game against Southend.

Striker Luer joined on loan from Hull for an initial month this week and will be included in the squad as caretaker bosses Andy Dawson and Nick Daws bid for a third straight win since taking charge.

Forward Vose, a deadline day signing from Wrexham, is hoping to make his first appearance for the Iron after last week's scheduled home game against Doncaster fell foul to the weather.

Dawson and Daws have no new injury concerns, while Gary McSheffrey is in contention for a recall having stepped off the bench in the recent win at Coventry following a knee injury.

Southend are set for a double boost in midfield with Michael Timlin returning from a one-match suspension and Stephen McLaughlin recovering from an ankle injury.

McLaughlin has not played since December 28 but is in contention, as is Sam McQueen, who has overcome a knock to his ankle.

Defender Adam Thompson has been playing through a hamstring strain in recent weeks and will be assessed while Myles Weston (foot) and John White (calf) are also doubts.
