Bartosz Slusarski will go straight into the Sheff Wed squad as two players return for Norwich.

Slusarski in for Owls, Canaries duo return

Bartosz Slusarski will go straight into the Sheffield Wednesday squad as Darel Russell and Gary Doherty return for Norwich. Sheffield Wednesday moved towards mid-table with a 2-0 win at Blackpool on Tuesday and will hope to push on with three more points against struggling Norwich. Slusarski arrived on loan from West Brom this week and is set to feature, although Deon Burton is not available after heading out of Hillsborough to join Charlton on a temporary deal. Owls manager Brian Laws has doubts over Tommy Spurr, who has missed the last two matches with a dead leg, Peter Gilbert (Achilles) and Jermaine Johnson, who was forced off in midweek with a knee injury. Midfielder Sean McAllister was also replaced on Tuesday night due to illness but is back in contention. Etienne Esajas will step up if Johnson fails to make it. Defender Tony McMahon will play the last match of his three-month loan spell with the Owls before returning to Middlesbrough.

Norwich news

Norwich manager Glenn Roeder has Russell and Doherty back from suspension for the trip to Yorkshire. Both should return to the starting line-up as Roeder looks for a much-needed win to climb away from 19th place in the Championship. Roeder is also set to include teenagers Korey Smith and Tom Adeyemi in the squad. Left-back Ryan Bertrand is doubtful with a lower back injury, with Adam Drury set to replace him after filling in at centre-back. Elliot Omosuzi (hamstring) and Omar Koroma (ankle) are both ruled out, while Jamie Cureton has joined Barnsley on loan. Dejan Stefanovic remains a long-term absentee with a cruciate injury.
