Jamie Cureton continued to defy the passing of the years as he grabbed the opening goal in Dagenham & Redbridge's 2-1 victory over Stevenage in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
The 40-year-old set the Daggers on their way towards the quarter-finals with a classy finish that sent Stevenage spiralling to their fifth straight defeat in all competitions.
It took half an hour for either side to create a genuine chance as Stevenage's Ben Kennedy teed up Dean Parrett, whose low drive was pushed away by Liam O'Brien.
Dagenham broke the deadlock after 53 minutes as Ashley Chambers played the ball through to Cureton, who placed a lovely shot into the far corner from a tricky angle.
Two minutes later, the lead was doubled as Cureton returned the compliment by cutting the ball back from the left for Chambers to fire into the top corner.
Stevenage had hope when Kennedy scored from the penalty spot with 11 minutes left after Brett Williams was bundled over by Kane Ferdinand but the Daggers held on.
