Swansea v Norwich preview

Two of last season's promoted clubs go head-to-head at the Liberty Stadium as Swansea City take on Norwich City.

Swans take on fellow promoted side Norwich at the Liberty

Two of last season's promoted clubs go head-to-head at the Liberty Stadium as Swansea City take on Norwich City. Both teams have exceeded expectations this term with Brendan Rodgers and Paul Lambert's troops impressing many with free-flowing football. The Swans have brought a dynamic passing game to England's top flight, while Norwich have proved it does not take big names to thrive in the Premier League. Swansea have been superb on home soil with one defeat to their name, while the Welsh side have conceded seven goals in 12 matches, the Premier League's second-best defensive record. Norwich, who beat Bolton last time out, are decent away from Carrow Road, winning three and drawing four of their 12 outings on the road.

Swans news

Rodgers has a near full-strength squad to pick from for the visit of Norwich. The former Reading and Watford boss, who signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract earlier this week, is likely to stick with the starting line-up that secured a 2-1 win at West Brom last weekend. New signing Curtis Obeng is unlikely to be rushed into the squad following his recent arrival from Wrexham. Long-term injury victim midfielder Ferrie Bodde is again on the sidelines after being hit by another knee problem and Andrea Orlandi (hamstring) is also out.
Canaries news
The Canaries consolidated their place in the top half of the table with a 2-0 win over Bolton on Saturday but both centre-backs, Daniel Ayala and Zak Whitbread, had to be replaced due to injury. Ayala, 21, suffered what is reported to be a minor tear in his hamstring and the summer signing from Liverpool faces another spell out, having just regained his place in the side after a knee problem. Whitbread, meanwhile, came off with his own hamstring issue, which the American-born centre-back hopes will not prove too serious. Russell Martin, Leon Barnett and Elliott Ward, now recovered from a pre-season knee injury, all provide options in the middle.
