Andre Villas-Boas made the Europa League one of his priorities when he took charge during the summer and has named strong starting line-ups in each of their first three group games.
However, Spurs have so far collected just three points and are third in the table ahead of the visit of the Slovenian champions, so Villas-Boas will be determined for a good result and performance after jeering from the home fans during Saturday's 1-0 loss to Wigan.
Tottenham will be without midfield duo Sandro (calf) and Mousa Dembele (hip) for the clash, but Emmanuel Adebayor is set to be given a chance to start.
Midfielder Jake Livermore will have a late test on his ankle injury while Villas-Boas has confirmed that Hugo Lloris will line up in goal.
Defender William Gallas is available despite suffering a slight hamstring injury against Wigan, but Scott Parker (Achilles), Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Younes Kaboul (both knee) are out.
With a trip to Lazio next up, Villas-Boas has no doubt about the importance of the game.
"Even though a defeat doesn't mathematically disqualify us, it is a game we have to win," he said.
"We are in this competition to win it."
Maribor, who held Spurs to a 1-1 draw in Slovenia, are one point better off than their opponents and just a point adrift of group leaders Lazio.
Highly-rated striker Robert Beric, who scored last time against Tottenham and is reportedly a transfer target for the London club, will again be the main danger man.
Defender Ales Mejac is a doubt after missing the team's final training session, while Rajko Rep is a definite absentee.
However, Jovan Vidovic is back from suspension and Nejc Potokar is likely to return from injury.
